Êkèkê Cievî-kaye (/ciˈevɪ/ /ˈkaje/ [fashionable] [mall]) is a temperate Large City located in the Ko-13nhun Zone of the Engineer's Guild.

The name Êkèkê Cievî-kaye is derived from the Sylvin language, as Êkèkê Cievî-kaye was founded by Holleen, who was culturaly Iron Elf.

Climate

Êkèkê Cievî-kaye has a yearly average temperature of 24°C (75°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 22°C (71°F). Êkèkê Cievî-kaye receives an average of 157 cm/y (61 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Êkèkê Cievî-kaye covers an area of nearly 108 km² (43 mi²), and an average elevation of 4066 m (13339 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Êkèkê Cievî-kaye was founded durring the late 15th century in summer of the year 1389, by Holleen. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Êkèkê Cievî-kaye was built using the conventions of Iron Elf durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Êkèkê Cievî-kaye is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Êkèkê Cievî-kaye is buildings are arranged arround a network of narrow paverstone streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The city rests behind a set of well fortified walls, with gatehouses, watch towers, and battlments. Êkèkê Cievî-kaye's walls are, howeaver, fashioned from stone and timber. While unorthadox, the design looks to be functional to a reasonable degree. With luck, the untested design will remain untested for years to come. Êkèkê Cievî-kaye's unusual yet seemingly effective fortifications are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

Êkèkê Cievî-kaye has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Êkèkê Cievî-kaye’s streets. While not open to the public, the librarians and scholars employed by the library will assist anyone with their research needs, and wealthy individuals can purchase membership to access the library's materials themselves. In spite of being generally closed to the public, the library has a room with several Aether Linked devices available to the public during business hours.

Êkèkê Cievî-kaye has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Êkèkê Cievî-kaye's natural decorations nor waterways.

Êkèkê Cievî-kaye has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Êkèkê Cievî-kaye has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Êkèkê Cievî-kaye's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is famous for its stately symmetry, classical elements, and grand appearance. Columns and pillars, such as Corinthian columns, are often seen supporting open structures or porticos. Symmetry is an important feature of this style, with each half of a building mirroring the other. Domed ceilings and windows grace these buildings, with everything placed in a mathematical arrangement.

In Êkèkê Cievî-kaye rain occurs in reverse with water pooling up from the earth then falling into the skies to from clouds, this unsettles every visitor that sees it.
